My first name, Alexis. stands for defender, strong, and confident. My parents named me this as they thought it was a rare name. They wanted it that way so when my name was called, only I would be able to answer.
Ming is my middle name and was chosen by my mom. It means bright and brilliance in Chinese. It is written 明. 日 means sun and 月 means moon.
My last name Besio derives from Besillian. This came from my dad's side of the family as when one of my ancestors immigrated to the United States, he was told to change his name.

One of my favorite Chinese foods is quite simple to make actually. It's cong you bing. (scallion pancakes) When my family makes it, we go by a certain recipe that I'd like to share with you! It's very thorough and easy to follow.
